Become a Faculty Scholar

Next Opportunity

We'd love for you to be among our next group of Faculty Scholars!

The application period for 2020 Faculty Scholars is open, and applications are due Wednesday, October 23, 2019 by 5:00 pm CT. Direct questions to Associate Vice President of Honors Programming Susan Edwards at susan.edwards@ptk.org.

The Honors Institute is an annual international Phi Theta Kappa event. The event features fascinating speakers, small group seminars, educational field trips and experiential activities.

New for 2020!

For the 2020 Honors Institute, we will select Faculty Scholars from among the Society’s chapter advisors, Advisor Emeriti, and alumni. All chapter advisors, advisor emeriti, and alumni are eligible to apply. Chapter advisors wishing to apply must be willing to serve in the advisor role throughout the 2020-2021 academic year.

Applicants will submit a 2-3 minute video discussing the 2020/2021 Honors Study Topic along with the rest of the Faculty Scholar application. No fancy equipment? No worries! You may use your phone or any other technology that can be saved as a video file to record your informed commentary about the Honors Study Topic question you select to discuss. Check the application for more detailed information about the 2020/2021 Honors Study Topic.
